Trying Dry Cereal

We gave Jack a few pieces of dry cereal to try to gum down. He played with them for a while, then decided he wanted to try to put them in his mouth.

After watching several missed attempts at putting the cereal in his mouth, I took a piece and shoved it in there. He sucked on it and made it super soggy. Then, just when it was ready to be swallowed...he spit it out. We played this game with about five pieces of cereal, and then it was time for a bath. We will continue to work on it!

Christmas with Kayden

Our last Christmas celebration was with cousin Kayden the day after Christmas. It is so fun having two babies so close in age. They had a great time opening presents, eating paper, laughing, and trying to outdo each other for attention.

These two could get away with anything with Grandpa Tim!

Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning, we opened presents at Lolli's house. The matching pjs were one of many traditions we hope to continue.

Jack got a cowboy hat and corral themed tent from Mom and Dad. The tent should be more of a hit once J starts to crawl.

Jack still mainly enjoyed the wrapping paper, bows and ribbons. He is sitting in his new EZ chair from Aunt Jamie and Uncle Ryan. He sits in it just like an old man.

The First Christmas Stop

The first stop on our Christmas extravaganza was to see Grandpa.

Jack began opening his first gift and seemed interested.

But, as predicted, he only wanted the wrapping paper!

Jack's favorite gift of the day: the giant red barn. It moos, oinks, sings and lights up, everything a kid could want! As you can see, Jack's outfit did not last long. We had a MAJOR blowout in the diaper, and did not have a spare outfit. So, Jack opened some presents in his diaper while we waited for his outfit to wash n dry. You know what they say... IT happens.

Christmas Cookies

Jack making Christmas cookies with Mom and Aunt Jamie. Unfortunately, Mom and Aunt Jamie did all of the Christmas cookie eating.

The Christmas Sweater

Jack's Christmas sweater. This guy is destined for an East Coast Ivy League school...or Texas A&M!

Music Man

Jack is enjoying a little Secret Agent 23 Skidoo Kid-Hop during the car ride to Nacogdoches. (Look it up....our favorite song is "I Like Fruit")

Ready for Christmas

Getting ready to head to Nacogdoches for Jack's first Christmas. Excited to go, but worried about fitting all of the presents in the car!

White Boys CAN Jump

We went to an Aggies game at Toyota Center (where the Houston Rockets play). We sat on the eighth row...very close to the action. Jack watched intently for a while, then among the buzzers buzzing, fans screaming, and music blaring, Jack took a little nap on Dad's shoulder. He amazes me. On our way out we found a cardboard basketball player, and Jack hammed it up for the camera.

Yeehaw!

Here is a hint as to what Jack's Christmas present will be....and no, it's not a pony!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Well, we finally got the Christmas cards out! Jack is dropping a slight grin for the camera. It actually looks somewhat forced. And for some reason it reminds me of the Stepbrothers movie poster.
